Provenance : Italy

This large vintage Italian white ceramic vase, dating to the Mid 20th Century, is crafted from glazed earthenware. Its ovoid amphora body, tall tapered neck, pedestal foot and mirrored swan handles create an unusually commanding architectural silhouette. The luminous ivory-white glaze reveals subtle firing specks and tonal variation, while Renaissance Revival and neo Baroque detailing gives its classical Mediterranean form theatrical presence.
Produced during Italy’s postwar decorative ceramics period, the vase reinterprets classical amphora proportions as a mid century Italian decorative object. The underside bears a handwritten ITALY mark. A central aperture passes through the base and aligns with the neck, making the piece suitable for potential conversion into a lamp base.
Display this sculptural vase with dried stems or minimal branches, or alone as a console, mantel or dining table centerpiece. Its large scale, monochrome glaze and swan motif suit mid century modern decor, vintage home decor, Mediterranean decor, Hollywood Regency decor and eclectic decor.
