Large antique French white cruche pot, wheel-thrown in glazed terracotta in the early 1900s. Its ovoid body has a broad neck, twin loop handles and an applied spout. Throwing rings, dark mineral specks and tonal variations animate the softly mottled cream glaze. Its silhouette and timeworn white glaze give it the presence of a sculptural French folk pottery object.

This French provincial water jug, known as a cruche à eau or gargoulette, bears a small impressed numeral on one handle. Age-related wear includes rim rubbing, small nicks and wear at the unglazed foot. An old hairline with localized glaze loss surrounds the spout base; the spout remains secure, and the piece is stable for decorative use.

Displayed as a large pottery vase for dried branches, a floor or console accent, or a sculptural centerpiece, it suits French country decor, wabi sabi decor, farmhouse decor, cottage decor and Mediterranean decor.
