Vintage Spanish blue glass 5 liters demijohn in hand blown glass, embossed VIRESA at the neck and dating to the early 20th century. This wine carboy bottle has a rounded form, tall neck, and green tone with visible bubbles, waviness, and thickness variation in the glass—typical of hand-blown glass. Its scale and sculptural silhouette make it a strong statement vessel for branches or as a standalone decorative bottle for French country decor, rustic home decor, and Mediterranean interiors.
Founded in Valencia, VIRESA (Vidrierías Reunidas S.A.) became renowned for its robust and artistic glassware. This particular vase embodies the elegance of Mediterranean craftsmanship—functional yet decorative, substantial in weight, and refined in proportion. Its design bridges utility with art, typical of postwar Spanish modernism. The soft green color comes from natural minerals in the sand used by regional glass works.
