Vintage Spanish Large Fajalauza lebrillo decorative bowl from Granada, Andalusia, dating to the mid 20th century. This hand-thrown ceramic bowl features cobalt blue and copper green decoration with a hand-painted radial rosette, arabesque geometric panels, and loose exterior brush motifs, all executed in the bold brushwork typical of Granada pottery and the Fajalauza tradition. This traditional earthenware bowl has the characteristic deep form and pierced hanging holes intended for wall display in Andalusian homes.
Produced in Granada, this piece belongs to the long Fajalauza pottery tradition that began in the 16th century, rooted in Hispano-Moresque ceramic heritage. Its thick terracotta body, unglazed reverse, and rustic handmade character reflect centuries of artisanal continuity. Lebrillos were traditionally used in Andalusian homes for preparing dough, washing produce, or marinating foods, later evolving into highly decorative Spanish ceramic bowls valued for both use and display.
This decorative bowl works as a wall hanging ceramic, table centerpiece, or Mediterranean serving bowl for special occasions. It suits Rustic Home Decor, Mediterranean Decor, Coastal Decor, French Country Decor, Cottage Decor, Farmhouse Decor, Wabi Sabi decor, and Japandi decor styles.
