Antique Spanish terracotta jar from Lucena, Cordoba, Andalusia, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1930). This decorative pottery jar is formed in brown terracotta and finished with a straw-yellow glaze, featuring a hand-painted olive branch / Tree of Life motif, a scalloped rim, and two side handles that give the piece a strong farmhouse silhouette at 29 cm tall.
Lucena has a long ceramic tradition shaped by Roman era roots and later Andalusian techniques, with utilitarian forms elevated through bold, readable decoration. The warm yellow glaze, natural glaze pooling, and small irregularities from kiln firing are consistent with workshop-made Spanish country pottery, while the olive branch design connects directly to the agricultural landscape of Cordoba.
Styled today as a decorative vase, shelf accent, or table centerpiece, this Spanish terracotta jar works naturally in farmhouse decor, rustic home decor, Mediterranean decor, French country decor, cottage decor, and calmer palettes like wabi sabi decor and japandi interiors—without needing to be treated as a utilitarian storage vessel.
