This albarello, a traditional pharmacy jar, is a striking example of mid-20th-century Talavera pottery from Spain. Handcrafted and painted in a vivid blue-on-white glaze, it features a symbolic pomegranate motif—a historic emblem of Granada—framed by graceful botanical scrolls. The inscription “Quassia Amara” references a medicinal plant once commonly stored in such jars, blending apothecary tradition with ceramic artistry.

The piece is signed on the base by the artisan workshop 'La Menora Talavera, España.' Active from 1851 to 1905, La Menora played a pivotal role in revitalizing Talavera pottery in the 19th century.

Ideal for collectors of Spanish ceramics, lovers of historical pharmacy ware, or as a decorative accent in rustic, Mediterranean, or eclectic interiors, this piece merges function, symbolism, and visual impact.
