This antique Manises ceramic plate is a striking example of Spanish craftsmanship from the late 19th century. Handcrafted in Manises, near Valencia, this historic town became a major center of Hispano-Moresque pottery from the 13th century onward, especially during the Nasrid era, renowned for blending Islamic artistry with Spanish decorative traditions.
The plate features an intricate blue-on-white glaze with a stylized bird motif framed by floral and geometric borders. Its generous 34 cm diameter suggests it was made as a decorative wall charger or ceremonial display piece.
With visible brushwork, artisan imperfections, and historical character, it’s ideal for collectors, Mediterranean-inspired interiors, or anyone drawn to heritage ceramics. Whether hung on a wall or displayed as a centerpiece, it’s a timeless statement of Spanish design history.
