This collection showcases the abstract photographic works of Laragh Stuart, a visual artist known for her evocative exploration of light, texture, and imperfection.

Born in Wicklow, Ireland in 1972, Stuart descends from a notable lineage of creatives: her father, sculptor Ian Stuart; her grandfather, writer Francis Stuart; and her great-grandmother, Maud Gonne, the celebrated Irish revolutionary and muse to W.B. Yeats.

From the series Negroni, this large-scale archival pigment print by Stuart distills fleeting visual impressions into haunting, abstract compositions. Originally captured through real-world visual phenomena—bursts of motion, light, and atmosphere—each work is transformed through negative imaging and tonal inversion, resulting in something quietly powerful and emotionally charged.

With no fixed narrative, the images leave space for intuitive interpretation—shapes hover, dissolve, and reappear. The Negroni series invites the viewer to linger in ambiguity, where imperfection, erosion, and momentary beauty are elevated to the realm of the poetic.
